During the sea transportation of 22” inch diameter pipes to the marshalling yard located at Limassol Port, Cyprus, a number of pipes were exposed to sodium chloride (marine) salts that were deposited on them during the sea voyage. Due to this occurrence, the external coating of some of the 22” inch pipe joints required the removal of sodium chloride (marine) salts and rust (iron oxide) residues prior to loading out from the Limassol yard. Lavar shipping designed and built a temporary wet yard and planned and safely executed the pipe cleaning activity safely and within budget.
